I am so glad that I met him and talked to him last night. It was not a very good day yesterday and the thing that I wanted to do most after a long day is to go home and sleep….. But I am so glad that I met him. I was seeking for someone to talk to. I told him that I was unsure of what is ahead , need to leave but nowhere to go, felt shortchanged and ‘’ bullied”. How come a Singaporean is no better than a Jap, just becos it’s linked???? Why must there be different ways of treatment? Said one thing but a turn of head is another??? …. So I decided!!!!!

After talking to him and telling him what happened, he did not say much, just stood there with me, being there with me. But the few words that were spoken were so gentle and strong at the same time. Gentle to the extent that he knew exactly what I am going through that one word from him you need no other, yet at the same time his words brought so much confidence, assurance, strength and hope that I felt I can face anything at hand again, and his display of understanding touches deep within.

After the conversation, I felt being backed up once again, not becos of anything, but simply I know that at least there is One that will stand by me. (Sometimes I feel that without a dad or someone elder than you that are like your shelter, people would bully you because you have nobody to “Cheng Yao”…especially when you worked outside.) He reminded me of a chapter from a book that we both know – “Ps, Chapter 37” it talks about when things are not going well for the man (character in the chapter), greater help will come to him as long as he stays hopeful and positive of the future.

He is very different from other friends that I have. To some, my sharing might have disturbed them from their sleep or work. But to him, he puts down everything he is doing just to listen to me. I am so thankful that I have this friend, THANK YOU…
